TRAINING method
Muay Thai Sangha is a COMPLETE Fighting ARTS System created for self-defense purposes. The striking is done with all nine limbs of the body. Muay Thai Sangha emphasizes using a unique set of body mechanics to end a confrontation in the shortest possible time.
The Muay Thai Sangha Empty Hand System strategically blends body mechanics from two main Muay Thai styles to deal with many forms of attack, and to improve defensive weaknesses at all fighting ranges. The system follows the approach of being protected before, during, and after any incoming attack.
The training approach in the Muay Thai Sangha Fighting Arts system can be compared to that of MMA (mixed martial arts). The training emphasizes cross-training to be able to resolve any confrontation with an adequate set of skills. Our curriculum covers striking, grappling, and weapons of different lengths.
Muay Thai Sangha’s most dangerous weapons are its counter techniques – devastating blocks, incorporating knees, elbows, and fast footwork to evade attacks – which emphasize the ethos of self-defense at the core of the style. All of our training, including the sparring, is done with almost no protective equipment (only a cup, mouthpiece, and sometimes small gloves).

The two operative concepts within our method are the Open Guard and the Closed Guard. The Open Guard Concept is based on a tall and wide guard, it works best in the long-middle range and places great emphasis on delivering full power behind each strike. The Closed Guard Concept is a low and compact guard with all the joints facing forward, ready to be used as a shield against any incoming attack, and works best in short-middle range distances.

It must be emphasized that we are not limited by the rules of sport muay Thai – That means we also train for real self-defense situations – So attacks to the groin, throat, and eyes are often part of our training, along with a variety of throws, sweeps and ground-fighting techniques.
The Muay Thai Sangha Training Program has included in all its courses, a variety of Internal methods to improve the fighting arts training from the inner core. We have selected specific subjects to counterbalance the hardness of our external methods.

The biomechanics are grounded in the ancient foundation of warfare and have been further POLISHED by Kru Pedro Solana, as the next step of his Muay Thai Sangha Fighting Arts training program. The internal martial arts classes are practiced at the GYM or sometimes nearby locations (JUNGLE waterfalls, CAVES) in order to TRAIN IN DIFFERENT SCENARIOS while enjoying nature.
