MUAY THAI GYM in THAILAND

about us

HOME TO ONE OF THE BEST MUAY THAI CLASSES IN THAILAND
We have chosen Mae Taeng as a location because of its clean mountain air, fresh temperatures, local hill tribe street markets…

Our Muay Thai Gym is located in the heart of northern Thailand, only 40 minutes north of Chiang Mai in the village of Mae Taeng, a small town surrounded by mountains next to the Sri Lanna national park.

We have chosen Mae Taeng as a location because of its clean mountain air, fresh temperatures, local hill tribe street markets offering fresh fruits and vegetables, cheap cost of living, and low noise levels after dark.

Also, Mae Taeng offers a great variety of outdoor activities. The Mae Taman Valley is just a few kilometers away from where many of the elephant sanctuaries are located. There is an abundance of natural attractions and activities in the area; lakes, caves, and waterfalls, as well as bamboo rafting and jungle zip lines, are some of the most popular destinations.

ENJOY THE THAILAND WEATHER

The weather in Mae Taeng is mild all year round. Thailand has 3 main seasons, the rainy season (the temperature is about 29 Degrees Celsius) in the north of Thailand starts in June and lasts until October.

In October the cold season begins (25 Degrees Celsius during the day, and nights about 10-20 Degrees Celsius) until the end of February. In March the hot season (35-42 Degrees Celsius) starts until the beginning of June.

In and around the mountains of Mae Taeng there are many different hill tribe villages from Burma, South China, and Laos. Local agencies offer different jungle trekking tours to visit them and learn about their culture.

The muay Thai sangha gym has recently opened a restaurant within the training facilities so students can enjoy authentic Thai food.

Our facilities are cozy and comfortable and they are built using bamboo and other natural materials. This type of environment makes a very unique and wonderful atmosphere to enjoy the food. The restaurant is inside of our Muay Thai gym, strategically located in a peaceful and open-air area surrounded by trees and a waterfall to assure freshness in a natural environment.

Apart from our students, the restaurant is visited daily by Thai people making a really good place to meet locals and learn about their culture.
Our prices very are reasonable, each dish offers good quantity and the food is very tasty.

Occasionally the restaurant serves international food for those who miss the food from home.

get to OUR MUAY THAI GYM – NEAR CHIANG MAI

Our Chiang Mai Muay Thai gym is located 38 km North of Chiang Mai city. To reach us you must take Highway 107 north from Chiang Mai to Chiang Dao. Travel on this road until you reach the city of Mae Taeng, and locate the famous Talaat Mae Malai local market which is on the same road (on the left-hand side facing north).

The location of the gym is 1.5 km further north from the market, on the right-hand side just in front of the TOA construction shop. Across the road from the TOA shop, there is a road with an aluminum shop in the corner. Enter that road for about 100 meters until you find one of our gym signs, follow them until you reach the gym.

BY TAXI:
The best and fastest option is to grab a direct taxi from the Chiang Mai airport to Mae Taeng guest house which will cost you 750 THB.
BY MOTORCYCLE:
You may also need a basic Chiang Mai road map (free in many businesses frequented by tourists) and follow the above directions.
BY BUS:
The last option for getting to our Chiang Mai muay thai gym is to go to the local Chiang Mai Northern bus station called ‘Satanee Rot Mae Chang Puak’ that is located outside of the north gate of Chiang Mai city (please do not get confused with the Chiang Mai central bus station ‘Arcade’). Catch a bus or a white truck taxi (songtaew) going to Mae Taeng city (it costs 25 baht), you will get off the bus or the taxi at the Talaat Mae Malai. From there we will pick you up at the front of the market or if you wish, you can walk to the gym (the distance is 1 1/2 Km).
We recommend you to contact us before you leave Chiang Mai so we have enough time to prepare everything!!

Absolutely. Fighting is an option and not an obligation. We ask that you tell us what you wish to learn from us and we will work on helping you to achieve your goals.

The school is very well equipped. We have plenty of space to skip, run circuits, 6 bags, plenty of training equipment – gloves, pads, and an array of protective gear and weight equipment. The school is kept very clean and located in a quiet, peaceful rice field area in Mae Taeng, Chiang Mai.

More importantly, the school has a positive, friendly atmosphere that I’m sure you’ll find well suited to helping you to learn quickly and enjoying your time at the school. We take your training very seriously as we are aware of the cost of a trip to Thailand and the limited time available to many people in modern society.

If you’re looking for a muay thai training camp with accommodation, then you’re in luck! Accommodation is available in a nearby guest house. Please email us informing us in advance of your arrival and so, therefore, we can arrange for everything to be in place upon your arrival. For more details please check the Accommodation and Fees under the About Us/School section.

We have a varied range of foods within a 5-minute walk from the school. We are situated close to many local restaurants which vary in cost and offer a wide range of foods and we are also near the famous Mae Malai market.
