KRU PEDRO

Mastering external combat taught me that the biggest battle is within.
In human life we suffer greatly from our need to compete with one another, and our desire for control beyond ourselves.
Our goal is to raise our vibration and to reinforce self-awareness so that we may fulfil our highest potential.
Our message for humanity is that everyone has the right to know themselves and their capabilities. Those who have the courage to push the boundaries of the mind and follow their hearts in the face of challenging odds, will be closer to find purpose in life.
Steps from my own path
I was born in Spain, entering the martial arts world when I was six years old. In the 80’s I was introduced to Muay Thai, soon after that my fighting career began. In the early ’90s, I moved to the USA to further my Muay Thai skills and continued fighting professionally for a number of years while expanding my knowledge of martial arts.

In 1998, after a decade of Muay Thai training and becoming the United States Muay Thai Professional Middleweight Champion I embark on a mission to train under Thailand’s best Muay Thai masters.

Over the course of my journey, I trained at 45 Muay Thai Camps and Thai Sword Fighting Schools. Each of these camps possessed valuable attributes and unique insights into the practice of Muay Thai which I integrated into my training.

In 2000 I returned to the U.S. and opened the Thailand Arts Institute in Atlanta, GA. to support my fighting career. In 2002, I permanently relocated to Thailand becoming a monk. Later, I returned to the Thai martial arts, training in Muay Thai Chaiya and again in Krabi Krabong (Thai Weapons).

From my exposure to different martial arts “Muay Thai Sangha” was created
In 2003, our first gym in the west of Chiang Mai, Thailand was opened where I effectively trained fighters for Muay Thai competition. Over the years, through personal experience and self-discovery, my vision developed into a unique style of fighting emphasizing effective body mechanics, energetic awareness, and timing. From my exposure to different martial arts “Muay Thai Sangha” was created.

In 2007 I moved the Muay Thai School to the south of Chiang Mai to cope with the ever-growing demand of students and fighters. In 2008 I traveled to Cambodia and Indonesia to perfect my skills in the arts of Bokator and Silat. In 2009 traveled to south India to perfect my skills in Kalaripayattu martial arts.
In 2010 I visited Wudang, central China to further my studies in Five Elements Sound Healing and the development of internal energy (Qigong).

NEW STAGE

TO EXPLORE

A trip to the "Self"
After traveling all over Asia, training under renowned martial artists I came to the conclusion that what I was really looking for was “Myself”

At that point, I returned to Thailand, my home for 20 years, and began an intensive period of self-reflection and looking into my heart. During one of my meditation sessions, a long laugh opened a new stage of clarity…

Soon after, I built a wooden house in the jungle near Chiang Dao Cave living there for two years. Whilst training in solitude, through deep reflection, I readjusted my fighting training by including self-awareness exercises (mindfulness) and certain energetic principles.

A NEW VISION
In 2013, I came down from the mountains and reopened the school in Mae Taeng (38 km north of Chiang Mai) and started combining the Muay Thai Sangha Fighting Arts with the new vision of inner defense.

Muay Thai Sangha now is founded on the principles of Sacred Geometry and incorporates the theory of the Five Elements. The method employs Warrior Yoga for structural realignment and meditation exercises to deepen our awareness.
